Italian company that produces ultra-pure cellulose of bacterial originuse usable in the fashion, design, furnishing, biomedical and cosmetic sectors is looking for distributors
BOIT20200921001
The Italian company was founded in 2015 with the intention of operating in the field of new nano-structured bio-materials, in particular cellulose of bacterial origin, with the aim of creating truly sustainable and natural products and solutions obtained from renewable resources and food waste.
The company is looking for reliable partners from the biomedical, dermocosmetic or design, furnishing, fashion sectors to conclude a distribution services agreement.
The Italian company is based in Apulia exactly in Salento, a land rich in food products, and operates in the sector of new nano-structured bio-materials, in particular on innovative materials based on bacterial cellulose, starting from agro-food industry waste, to use them in the fashion, design, furnishing, biomedical and cosmetic sectors.
Cellulose is obtained from a three-dimensional weave of nanometric fibres that makes it suitable for different applications: from the most demanding biomedical ones to the most performing design ones.
The company's aim is creating truly sustainable and natural products and solutions obtained from renewable resources and food waste (including, for example, malax and pomace). In particular, the company produces very pure cellulose of bacterial origin obtained from the symbiosis of bacteria and fungi, already present in food products; it is a biocompatible material that is self-assembling, eco-innovative and bio-inspired with high technological value.
The process of this type of material differs from other processes that use natural resources for its sustainability; in this regard, the company processes natural resources, exploiting the information and structure of the material to generate a biocompatible, nanostructured polymer capable of self-assembling at ambient temperature and pressure and growing rapidly (14 days). The innovative production process of the nanostructured biopolymer is that of a bio-factory, as microorganisms become miniature factories capable of self-assembling the polymer using low energy and material intensity and high regenerative potential.
Thanks to the active principles of the bacterial cellulose and based on the active principle of the treated cellulose, this material can be used: in the biomedical sector (for the creation, for example, of curative bandages and hydrogels), in the dermocosmetic sector (for the production, for example, of masks for the well-being of the body) and in those of fashion design, furnishing, automotive as it is possible to create a natural eco-leather.
The natural eco-leather produced from bacterial cellulose represents a valid alternative to animal and synthetic leather, as it is similar to the latter two to touch and sight.
The company would like to expand its business worldwide and it is looking for distribution service agreement with a partner that are active in the fashion, design, furnishing, biomedical or cosmetic sectors.
The company supports the circular economy by reusing waste from nearby agri-food companies. The reuse of waste represents, on the one hand, the starting point for feeding bacterial crops and, on the other hand, an economic advantage linked to disposal costs for the companies that produce them and the environment, since emissions linked to their combustion are avoided.
